To combat food waste and implement enhanced recycling measures, Fairmont Century Plaza has an ORCA digestive unit on site, which takes food waste and converts it into water waste, reducing the hotel’s landfill contributions.
Built to LEED® Silver standards, Fairmont Century Plaza features include a rooftop green area, water-efficient landscaping, state-of-the-art recycling and composting programs.
Operational waste is reduced through onsite composting, e-waste recycling, and hazardous waste collection (such as batteries and paint).
We are proud to partner with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for their public-private Pacific Coast Food Waste Initiative. The goal of this partnership is to cut greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80 percent by 2050.

I spent four nights here for business. The hotel was well located for my work and next to a big shopping centre. I had to change the first room that I was offered as it smelled musty and unclean. The reception staff seemed rather put out that they had to fix the situation. I was disappointed to note that there are no desks to work from in the rooms, except in the suites. The lighting in the rooms, especially the bathroom, is terrible to apply make up and get ready (I'm a broadcaster). The food in the restaurant and room service is fine but extremely overpriced. The door, hospitality and housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful, incredibly friendly and could not do more to make you feel welcome. Unfortunately the staff on reception were the opposite, generally sullen and seemingly unwilling to help. A tired hotel that could do better
Your staff is the jewel in your glorious crown! John and Alex at the bell stand; Ashley at the front desk, JB went above and beyond always - everyone I encountered was incredibly kind, gracious and helpful! Room service was efficient and gracious, the server at the front lobby restaurant (I am so upset I cannot remember her name) She was on duty on Wednesday evening - 4-6 pm - blonde hair, kindness exuding from her (hair was in a bun) helped me charged my phone, got me and my colleague everything we needed - the experience at your hotel was superior!

I was traveling with my law firm, a group of us. When we arrived, I was told the room would be ready in 30 minutes. It was literally 3 hours later when the room was ready, front desk agent kept telling me she was waiting for final check of the cleaning crew. She then got rude, told me check-in time wasn't until later, but by then I was beyond check in time! There were two of us, front desk manager gave my colleague a $100 bar gift certificate. We needed a room, not a drink!
